About Us
Our Story
Rise began the way many things do — with a child.
A child who didn’t quite fit into the boxes.
A child who saw the world with wild imagination, deep emotion, and an untamable spirit.
My son is wonderfully NeuroUnique, with a handful of differences that make the world feel bigger, louder, and sometimes harder to navigate — but also more magical, curious, and alive. Traditional systems didn’t support the way he learns or relates to the world — and honestly, they didn’t support me much either. After years of trying to make school “work,” we were both completely worn out. We didn’t need a new curriculum. We needed a new way.
So we began to imagine one. Together.
What We Believe
Rise Community was created not only as a place where my son could feel safe, curious, and free to be himself — but as a space where all kids could.
Neurotypical, neurodivergent, highly sensitive, wildly active, slow to warm — all are welcome, because all are needed in a community that values empathy, flexibility, and belonging.
We believe the soul purpose of raising children is not to mold them into something predetermined, but to walk beside them as guides — supporting them as they explore the world through their own eyes, and gently helping them learn to respect the world through the eyes of others.
How We Learn
Here, we learn through play and purpose.
We grow through connection and curiosity.
We lead with compassion, not compliance.
We celebrate mistakes, wear lots of sunscreen, and occasionally run entire lessons on snack schedules and hyper fixations.
(Yes, we will absolutely make a science lesson out of Pokemon or Minecraft if that’s what lights a fire in your kid.)
Rise isn’t just a program. It’s a movement — toward something softer, slower, and more human.
A Love Letter to Our People
To my son:
You have helped — and at times lovingly pushed — me into places I didn’t know existed: deeper wells of patience, fiercer love than I thought possible, and caffeine intake levels that should probably be studied by science.
You are my calm storm. My wild zephyr boy. The reason I see the world through softer eyes and a stronger heart.
I cannot wait to see what you create with all your todays and tomorrows. And I’ll be right here cheering you on, holding space, and restocking the snacks.
To the parents walking this path:
I see you. I fall with you in the hard moments, and rise with you in the light. Your love, your advocacy, and your quiet courage shape more than just your child’s life — they ripple outward, creating new ways for all of us to belong.
And yes, I’m probably standing next to you, running on coffee, 45 minutes of sleep, and the sheer will to make it through bedtime.
To the educators, therapists, and caregivers lighting the way:
Thank you for walking beside our families with open minds and steady hearts. Your work helps build the bridges we cross every day — even if we’re crossing them with a kid in one arm and a backpack full of sensory tools in the other.
You make us feel seen, and for that, we are forever grateful for your dedication.
